Lots of schools saw applications decrease as it became harder for new law graduates to find jobs and handle student loan debt. Some schools, however, still receive a great deal of full-time applications, in spite of the trend.
Georgetown University had 7,748 applications to its full-time J.D. program for fall 2015, more than other school amongst the 195 ranked law schools that sent information to U.S. News in a yearly study. However the District of Columbia school’s total was down a little from fall 2014, when it likewise acquired the most full-time applications among law schools: 7,793.
Washington University in St. Louis wasn’t on the fall 2014 list; however its 4,613 full-time applications sufficed to earn it a spot amongst the 10 law schools with the most applications for fall 2015. The other schools that made the list saw their totals drop some by more than 700 applications from fall 2014, except George Washington University, which saw a boost of more than 600 applications.
The typical number of applications among the top 10 schools was 5,544. Amongst all 195 schools, it was 1,650.
The 10 universities with the most applications were all ranked at No. 25 or greater in the 2017 Best Law School rankings.
Below is a list of the 10 schools with the most applications from prospective full-time students for fall 2015. Unranked schools, which did not satisfy particular criteria required by U.S. News to be numerically ranked, were not considered for this report.
